Calcium is required for strong bones, heart health, muscle function, nerve transmission, intracellular signaling, and hormonal secretion. Less than 1% of the body’s total calcium is used to support these metabolic functions; the body stores the remaining 99% in bone tissue, which serves as both structural support and a reserve. Our bones help maintain constant concentrations of calcium in blood, muscle, and intercellular fluids. Research suggests that taking vitamin D3 with vitamin K2 (Dynamic D) helps support healthy signaling and balance of calcium between blood vessels and bone.

Cheaper, poorly absorbed mineral forms such as calcium carbonate or magnesium oxide are absorbed slowly and rely on adequate stomach acid to release calcium ions via passive diffusion.
